A large number of middle-aged men develop BPH due to excess testosterone in the prostate. The age-related failure of the testicular veins leads to the pooling of testosterone-rich blood in the pelvis. When left untreated, testosterone exposure to the prostate leads to unmitigated prostate enlargement (i.e. BPH). Clinical studies have demonstrated the reversal of BPH via the restoration of normal testicular blood flow, through vascular replumbing. However, the lack of a solution to perform vascular anastomosis has prevented its widespread use as a treatment for BPH. Vivifi’s technology enables this procedure, reducing testosterone exposure to the prostate, reverting it back to its normal size, and curing BPH.
